Special reagent for precipitating gold from electropolished liquids or baths.
Work cycle:
Add between 25 and 50% by volume of the distilled water solution.
Slowly, carefully pour 50 to 100 grams per liter (in the initial volume, before diluting) of caustic PQ and continue stirring at a set time interval for one hour.
After this period, all the precious metals present in the solution will be reduced and will appear forming a dark precipitate.
Let it sit for a few hours until the liquid is clear.
Filter off the sludge and wash it several times with distilled water (until a neutral pH is reached).
* Before taking out the main liquid, it is desirable to take a sample of about 200 ml and repeating the process to ensure that there are no more dissolved residues. The metal slurry retained in the filter can be melted in an ingot or treated with 50% diluted nitric acid to dissolve the copper and silver, leaving the fine gold in powder form.
